Dear art lover,

Hello again art connoisseurs! I’m Ted, your Ed, bringing you the latest New Imaginism news!

Despite the growing excitement surrounding the impending global launch of New Imaginism, the Imaginarium was a strangely quiet place this week, as Alice Dee left for a whirlwind world tour. The New Imaginist visited galleries and museums throughout Europe, North America and Africa in an attempt to ‘connect’ with various artistic masterpieces. Here are the details:

Alice Dee’s World Tour

Alice Dee, the first female New Imaginist, has gone to unprecedented lengths in the pursuit of artistic inspiration. The 33-year-old artist has embarked on a 10-day whistle stop tour of prominent museums and art galleries in order to get ‘up close and personal’ with a range of masterpieces by artists including Salvador Dali, Frieda Kahlo, Man Ray and more.

Speaking from the National Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa, Alice said that her hastily arranged world tour had already provided enormous amounts of inspiration and would result in “mind-blowing, blind-mowing” New Imaginism artworks.

“To me, the integrity of my New Imaginism works relies upon my ability to create a unique, personal and intimate experience for each viewer. It just made sense for me to have a personal experience with certain existing works before trying to offer my audience an enhanced aesthetic experience based upon those works”.

Alice has already visited a number of eminent institutions around the globe, including the Museo del Prado of Madrid, the National Gallery of London, MoMA of New York and Isadore Ducasse Fine Arts of New York, and reports that she is “bubbling with creative energy” as a result of her tour.

“This tour has given me a lifetime’s worth of stimulation and education. In fact, I plan to record the events of this tour within my works. I want the world to know that I have seen and experienced these masterpieces first hand, and that my New Imaginist interpretations of those works are coming from a very real, very personal place”.

Although it is unclear how Alice plans to incorporate her tour into her works, this site may hold some clues…

Meet Alice Dee

Once just another young visual artist from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Dee spent far too much time taking certain naturally occurring substances (and some that don't occur naturally at all). As a result, she exists now only in what, in an homage to Carroll's famous book, her very own “Wonderland”.

Occasionally, her observations from this alternate dimension are shared with others, and Dee has found that the New Imaginists are one of the few artistic collaborations who are able to keep up with her ever distorting mind.
