What is New Imaginism?“New Imaginism is art without an artifact.”
Herman Bean
“A multiple memetic and sensory feast for the mindscape.”
Colin Colorful
To explain in a little more detail, New Imaginism is more than an artistic movement: it is a fundamental reappraisal of the relationships between concept, artist, artifact and audience. It is an extremely personal, intimate fine art format aimed at being known as “art of the mind.”
New Imaginism was founded and developed by Herman Bean and a close-knit group of collaborative artists over the past eighteen months. They are being extremely secretive about the specifics of their movement at this point in time, saying very little other than the description above. One thing is certain, however: it will be completely unlike any fine art movement currently understood.
“Mind-blowing- blind-mowing!”
Alice Dee
It is a post-conceptual, post-digital, art movement of the future. It is a concept arriving before it's time, and we are putting the word out as we know there are people out there that will understand the vast potential of this movement. All will be revealed in October, 2009, as the movement launches officially. There will be a series of functions and launch parties where the manifesto will be unveiled and the debut New Imaginist works presented.
In the mean time, if you would like to know more, there is information on this website outlining who the founding artists of this movement are and information regarding the various launch functions around the world. If you want to stay updated on the developments regarding New Imaginism as they unfold, use the contact page to stay in touch either by email or by using the Facebook social networking system.
